Vionic Shoes founded in 1979, the mission of Vionic Shoes began with the work of renowned podiatrist Phillip Vasyli. A pioneer and innovator in the field of lower limb biomechanics, Vasyli treats thousands of patients, from toddlers to amateur and professional athletes. His friends and colleagues call him a "natural healer," and he has a real passion for making orthotherapy cheaper and more accessible to people who need pain relief. Early in his career, vasyli realized that the only treatment options for many common foot conditions, such as plantar fasciitis or overpronation, were expensive and time-consuming. In response to the strong demand for solutions, he invented one of the first thermoplastic orthotics, a low-cost option that made patients feel better when they walked out of the clinic than when they came in.
